T-Sucks, Jr. ~ Forum Decorum

IMPORTANT! Please take the time to get a feel for this site BEFORE posting. Check the threads and the posts in them to see how we have things set up here. And please .. take the time to read the following guidelines.

No flaming. We know there will be disagreements and differences of opinion. BUT .. personal attacks will not be allowed. While a little good-natured ribbing isn't a problem, when you get into name calling, slurs and racial epithets .. I will start using the delete key.

Be respectful and courteous. While it's okay to express disagreement with someone or let them know that you think they're mistaken about something, please be polite about it. Sarcasm is fine. An offensive term associated with someone's race, religion, or sexual orientation is not. Also not acceptable? Outright telling someone to "fuck off" or calling someone a "liar". We're supposed to be adults here. Act like it.

Nicknames. We don't mind nicknames as long as they don't fall in the category of "racist", "tasteless" or "crass". So, if someone wants to call a T-Mod "Mr. Fattypants", or "Miss BushyEyebrows" .. they can .. even though it's very Jr. High, isn't it? Hey, YOU don't have to. But if someone else wants to do it, that is their right. Just as it's okay for certain T-Mods to insist that [insert latest female she hates here] has fake boobs, is stupid, unattractive, fat/skinny, and a shrew. If they can do that .. we can call them on it and say "Hello Kettle"!

Nicknames vs. Slang. Where do we draw the line on an acceptable nickname and an unacceptable slang term? Consider the Mods here the FCC. Could it be said on prime time network television? Then it's no problem. When you get into the area of pay-cable. You should think twice.

Swearing in general. Oddly enough, we don't care about swearing within the text of your posts. Just try not to be excessive with it. An occasional "fuck" isn't a big deal. An entire post filled with "fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck"? Not a good idea. (And, pretty useless to be honest.)

Staying on topic. Please help to keep the threads "on topic." While it's okay to include a bit of "off topic" stuff in your message, it's also important to make sure the thread doesn't end up being totally unrelated to the original topic.

Shit Stirring and Law Breaking. Don't Do It! By special request, I'll include the following examples: You CANNOT blather on about how someone should go put sugar in someone's gas tank. You CANNOT ..within your vent on this board.. suggest that there is some sort of united SPAM attack against another website or forum. You CANNOT accuse someone of illegal activity that is not known to be fact and without verifiable evidence. And even if it is known to be a fact, you really shouldn't. You CANNOT post the personal, unpublished: name, address, e-mail addy, etc. of a person. Please be aware, if TPTB here find out that any shit stirring or intentional law breaking is going on or being encouraged - we will delete your account and ban your IP. And I just might personally notify the intended 'target' as well. This is NOT why we are here.

Trolls and Trolling. See a Troll? Ignore (then report) it. Are a Troll? Go somewhere else, please. I cannot emphasize this enough. DO NOT engage in pissing contests with other posters on this board. We all know that there will be people cruising through here just looking to pick a fight. Do Not Engage. In the end, both parties engaging in bullshit behavior will likely be dealt with in the same manner. We do not care who "started it".

Just The Facts, Man. You CAN bitch about your personal experiences at TWoP. Especially welcome are examples of hypocrisy you see as you peruse that board, give examples of contradicting statements by the staff and posters at TWoP, cut and paste stupid posts and stupid responses.

Letting Go. Know when to say when and let go of an issue. If there's a debate going on .. and on .. and on .. and on .. then it's time to let it go. It's only interesting to the people who are arguing, everyone else is scrolling past and looking for someone to change the subject.

And because it bears repeating ... people .. please .. I'm begging you.

Know the difference between articulating your opinion and attacking another poster. When things start getting ugly, you need to take it upon yourself to know when to knock it off and let it go. If the Mods here have to draw the line for you, it may not be with kindness, and we really hate that.

Thanks .. and let's have some fun.
