Depending on your point of view, it was terrible.
OK, just kidding. Personally, I felt like it was a mix of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek (OK, there were some weird clothes in that movie), and basically every epic mainstream movie you've ever seen. It was not as accurate to the books as some of us would have liked. Basically, my friends and I have been making fun of it for a while. If you liked the book, you won't like the movie. But if you'd like to just see it for the sake of judging for yourself (i.e. what I did), go see it. However, if you want to see a quality film, don't bother.
Also, it's good for a laugh.
