Characters I loathe:

Buffy The Vampire Slayer:

I never cared for either Willow or Xander and by S7 both had turned into completely unlikeable jerks.

They weren't her 'loyal friends', they were a pair of hanger-ons who battened themselves onto Buffy like a pair of remoras in high school and never let go. Associating with Buffy provided those two losers with some meaning and purpose in their useless, drab lives. If it weren't for her, they'd have been vampire chow before they were old enough to drive.

So how did they repay her? Let me count the ways:

Xander was a hypocrite who condemned Buffy's relationships while dating an unrepentent demon. He stuck his nose in her relationships despite the fact they never dated and she didn't involve herself in his affairs. He was useful exactly twice out of over 150 episodes, and was emotionally abusive towards all his girlfriends. I especially detested his S7 pity-party when he whined about how he didn't have any superpowers - this on a show which constantly showed the downside of such superpowers.

Willow is even worse. I could say a lot about Little Miss Baby-voiced, Passive-Agressive Wicca Who Wonta, but I'll be brief. My theory is that Willow brought Buffy back to provide an income stream and housekeeping services. I didn't see Willow ponying up any rent money during the three years she lived in Buffy's house, and just what happened to Joyce's insurance money anyway?

One S6 ep sticks out in particular; Buffy came back home from her crappy fast food job and promptly went into the kitchen and started in on the mountain of dishes. Meanwhile, Willow's ass was planted on the sofa. Says it all, doesn't it.

Dawn: Whiny, useless pest who should have been killed in S5.

Faith: Murderous psycho whom the Watcher's Council should have offed while in her coma.

Angel:

Connor - creepy, fugly killer who should have been drowned at birth.

Fred - a.k.a. River 1.0. Annoying, useless whiner who destroyed both Wesley and Gunn. They should have left her in Pylea.


Lost:

Ana The Orc. The more the show tries to tell me she's a misunderstood little wooby who deserves a hug, the more unlikeable she comes across.

At one point, she whined to Sayid about how "no one's ever liked me". I thought "Of course they don't, you're a violent, self-pitying, trigger happy fool with a volcanically unpleasant personality."

I loved the smackdown by Darth Hobbit when Ana whined that she wanted his gun and didn't understand why he didn't immediately hand it over to her. "Because the last time you had a gun, you murdered someone." Just what I was thinking.
